My Picasso – Envisioning Life in Five Years

My Picasso | ESEC 620 Spring 2011

ADVOCATING FOR MORE AFRICAN-AMERICAN WOMEN AT ALL LEVELS OF PUBLIC LEADERSHIP to help shape public policies for positive outcomes for disenfranchised communities of color: affordable housing, affordable and free medical care, afterschool programs for youth, job training, senior services, safe pathways, effective schools, and so much more!

This is “My Picasso” highlighting my shared vision for the world within the next five (5) years.

My vision for the future is for all urban communities to have the priviledge to experience the pleasures of clean air and water, to walk, run and ride their bikes safely throughout their neighborhood, enjoy corner stores with fruits and vegetables, accessible neighborhood medical clinics, and enjoy clean parks and fully staffed afterschool programs at recreation centers.

In order for this dream to come true, we need to recruit and support more African-American women in public leadership to help shape and advocate for public policy which positively impacts the lifelihood of disenfranchised communities which are predominately black and brown people.
